Air pollution and heart health in the EMRO region: A capacity-building webinar by WHO and WHF

Registration is closed for this event

More than twenty percent of all cardiovascular disease (CVD) deaths are caused by air pollution — more than three million deaths every year — and nine out of ten people worldwide breathe polluted air, which disproportionately affects those living in low-resource settings. These numbers will continue to rise unless the health community takes action.

The World Health Organization and World Heart Federation have joined forces to raise the profile of air pollution as a major determinant of heart health. We are pleased to invite you to participate in this exclusive webinar to build capacity for action on air pollution. On 18 December 2023, join experts from the EMRO region and around the world to learn about air pollution as a health risk, the mechanisms of its impact on the heart, and what can be done from both clinical and advocacy perspectives.
