Preventing cardiovascular events in those at highest risk: closing the policy and implementation gap in secondary prevention
About 35 million people have an acute coronary or cerebrovascular event every year, and between 20% to 40% of these events occur in individuals with established cardiovascular disease (CVD). Despite the existence of strong guidelines for the provision of secondary prevention care, many patients are still not receiving adequate care.
This webinar will explore the global, regional and national-level policy initiatives that are working to ensure optimal secondary prevention care, including the upcoming update of the WHF Roadmap for Secondary Prevention of CVD, as well as key considerations needed to help reduce the global burden of cardiovascular disease.
